Apologies! I owe you all three posts as I have missed the last two weeks! I plan to knock out a few posts in short order, starting with my resolutions regarding playing some RPGs this year! Unlike my miniature post, I figure that three goals is more realistic.
- Play Mother Ship
- It is so long since I GM'ed and I don't have a regular group. I figure that a short campaign of Mother Ship may help me ID potential members for a new group.
I'll talk more about my thoughts on Mother Ship later, but after reading
the rules I'm pretty stoked to run this game. I also picked up a copy
of Dead Planet, so I already have a scenario in the hopper.
- Play a Free League Publishing Game
- Based on the Forbidden Lands and Vessen products I already own, I absolutely love Free League books. They both are gorgeous and engaging to read, and I'm torn between which to ultimately run. Regardless, once I wrangle up a dedicated group of players with Mother Ship, I'll transition them into playing one of these two.
- Start a campaign with my kids
- My soon to be nine year old daughter keeps asking me to play D&D with her again. We played a mini campaign early last year and I had promised her that we would play more soon. My biggest hurdle is indecision, I can't figure out which game and setting I want to play with her. I also need to keep in mind my five year old son as he can become frustrated when others play any game that he can't belong to so will most likely have to include him!
That's it for my RPG goals this year. You can expect updates as I make moves on them in the future. Any thing RPG related that you are itching to do this year?
